AMENDMENT NO. 4 TO AGREEMENT A09-07 WITH POMONA VALLEY WORKSHOP
Authorize the execution of Amendment No. 4 to Agreement No. A09-07 with Pomona Valley Workshop to increase the unit cost from $11 to $11.50.
Pomona Valley Workshop (PVW) is an accredited local program that provides adults with disabilities the opportunity to reach their potential in vocational and socialization skills. PVW performs daily facility maintenance at: the Chino Hills Community Park, McCoy Equestrian Center, Chino Hills Community Center, Chino Hills City Hall, Chino Hills Police Station, and the James S. Thalman Library.
On January 27, 2009, the City Council approved an agreement with PVW in an amount not to exceed $75,000. On November 12, 2014, the agreement was amended to increase the hourly wage from $9 to $10 per hour. On December 9, 2015, the agreement was amended a third time to increase the hourly wage to $11. This fourth amendment responds to PVW’s request to increase the hourly wage from $11 to $11.50 as a result of economic factors including the minimum wage increase.
ENVIRONMENTAL (CEQA) REVIEW:
The proposed project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Title 14 California Code of Regulations § 15301 (h) as a Class 1 categorical exemption (Existing Facilities). The project involves maintenance of existing facilities and is not anticipated to have any significant impacts with regard to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality.
This amendment was not anticipated in the fiscal year 2016-17 budget and may require up to $9,800 in increased appropriations dependent upon the actual number of hours worked. Staff will review actual expenditures and request an adjustment in the fourth quarter, if necessary.
