PERSONNEL RULES – UPDATES TO THE VACATION LEAVE POLICY
 
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the revisions to the City of Chino Hills Personnel Rules, Rule X - Attendance and Leaves, Section 1 - Vacation Leave.
BACKGROUND/ANALYSIS:
The Human Resources department is recommending some minor changes to the Vacation Leave policy in the Personnel Rules. The City will soon be implementing new electronic timesheets and one new component of this system will allow employees to electronically request time off. These recommended changes will provide guidance to staff regarding the process to request time off and better streamline the approval process. The changes also clarify the City’s process when receiving multiple leave requests for the same period of time.
ENVIRONMENTAL (CEQA) REVIEW:
This proposed action is exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act (California Public Resources Code §§ 21000, et seq., "CEQA") and CEQA regulations (14 California Code Regulations §§ 15000, et seq.) because it constitutes an organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment. Accordingly, this action does not constitute a "project" that requires environmental review (see specifically 14 CC § 15378 (b)(4-5)).
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
